Les écosystèmes terrestres subissent une crise sans précédent de leur biodiversité. À l’avenir, et dans les régions tropicales, la modification de l’utilisation des terres induirait les impacts les plus importants sur la biodiversité. L’objectif de ce travail vise à évaluer la biodiversité floristique (structure forestière et composition) et faunistique (composition) dans trois régimes fonciers, dans les forêts semi-décidues du sud-est du Cameroun. La Réserve de Faune du Dja représente le témoin jamais exploité pour le bois d’oeuvre, et, à l’opposé, les forêts communautaires, sont considérées comme le niveau de perturbation maximal. Au sein de la concession forestière certifiée FSC, les sites se situent à des positions intermédiaires sur le gradient de perturbation selon le temps écoulé depuis le passage de l’exploitation. Dans les 36 parcelles d’inventaires forestiers, plus de 17 000 arbres ont été mesurés et identifiés jusqu’à l’espèce pour évaluer la biodiversité floristique. Dans les 44 pièges photographiques installés pour une durée de 3 mois, un total de 4 329 évènements de détection ont permis d’évaluer la biodiversité faunistique. Concernant la biodiversité floristique, les forêts communautaires sont relativement riches en espèces (contrairement à ce qui peut être attendu), particulièrement en espèces pionnières. Si la concession forestière retient une diversité animale importante, la Réserve de Faune du Dja présente les communautés animales les plus riches et abondantes. Les zones sous exploitation sélective peuvent donc retenir une part substantielle de la biodiversité en comparaison de zones entièrement dédiées à la protection. Enfin, les forêts communautaires, bien que défaunées et structurellement perturbées, répondent encore aux besoins sociaux et économiques des communautés locales.
